I’ve been soliciting sympathy from friends regarding my stolen car. But my friend M went one better.  He recounted how his car was stolen a few years ago in Oakland. A week after it disappeared the Oakland Police call to say they found the vehicle. When he went to collect it, M found two items of material culture which had not previously been in the car. A Luther Vandross CD. And chaps.
